Current Candidates for Board Membership:
Class B (Multi-Family):
Bob Christian has been a member of the Raintree Lake community since
July of 1990 as a resident of Cobblestone. Bob has been an active
Cobblestone Board member since 1993 (with time off for good behavior from
1995 to 1998). He is currently President of the CHOA, but has served
over time in several capacities. Bob served on the 2003-2004 RLPOA
Board of Directors and also from 2007-2009 as a member as will as a term as
Vice President. Bob currently serves RLPOA on our Finance Committee as
well as the Chairman of the Clubhouse Renovation Committee. Bob's
background and experience is in the Purchasing and Materials Management
professions. If elected, he intends to continue working, along with
other Board members, to ensure Raintree maintains its status not only as one
of the premier lake communities in Lee's Summit, but also in the entire
greater Kansas City Area. This involves prudent management of members'
assets as well as forward planning for future community needs.
Class A (Single-Family):
Brian West and his wife of twenty years, Lesa, and their two
children, Kyle and Mitch have lived in the Raintree community for the past
twelve years. He has over 28 years of landscape experience and is
currently working at Turf Designer and Landscape here in Lee's Summit.
He has been very active in the community, currently serving on the Board of
Directors as Treasurer and has served on the Common Ground and Siltation
Committees since moving to Raintree. While serving on these
committees, he has learned with all the development of shopping centers and
other subdivisions being developed near our lake, we need to constantly be
watching and interacting with state and city officials to ensure we protect
our community that it continues to provide a safe and beautiful environment
for all to enjoy. He has a strong commitment and is willing to
continue to invest his time towards keeping our neighborhood property values
up and to insure that the dues we pay go toward the upkeep of the common
ground and our amenities. He also feels that it is important to
maintain the water quality of our lake to insure that residents can enjoy
water activities.
Jeanne Smith and her husband John have lived in Raintree Lake for 33 years. We have four children and nine grandchildren which all live in this area. She retired from Shook Hardy and Bacon law firm as a legal administrator and is currently a member of the Heartland Legal Secretaries Association. While living at Raintree she has served on the Raintree Lake Common Ground Committee, current member of the Garden Club and the Clubhouse Renovation Committee. Both John and Jeanne are members of the Aldersgate Methodist Church. She now has time to serve on the Board and will work to continue improving our quality of life and preservation of our property values at Raintree and preserving our current amenities by moving forward with our short and long term capital improvement plans which will help us achieve these goals.
Bruce Kusgen and his wife Jennifer live here with our four children Lauren, Megan, Trevor and Bella since 1998. We own and operate All Pro Laundry Equipment in Lee's Summit since 1990. He has gained alot of knowledge over the years being self-employed (bidding jobs, dealing with subcontractors, plumbing, electrical, concrete flat work, etc. and knows how to make a dollar stretch. Times are tuff, but we are trying to keep our heads above water by being as frugal as possible. In this economy, he believes RLPOA will also need to be as smart wit their money as possible. Lets try to make 2010 great without breaking the bank.
San LaPoint has lived at Raintree for
over 20 years. He has actively participated as member, chairman,
co-chairman or secretary of the following committees: Raintree Lake
Committee, Raintree Conservation Committee, Raintree View Committee,
Raintree Nomination Committee and Raintree Facilities Committee.
Developed and led the RLPOA Yearly Boat Safety classes for numerous years.
Over 40 years experience in the management of budgets for contracts, data
processing equipment and personnel. He has developed, implemented and
adjusted policies and procedures for civilian and military personnel
development, project budget management and product deliveries. He will
continue to work for the betterment of all Raintree Resident's property
values and neighborhood attitudes. He has in the past and will
continue in the future to encourage Committee projects and input. (updated

Report A Pothole!
During the winter months, roadways may develop cracks and holes due to the freezing and thawing of rain and melting snow. The City's Public Works Operations Division would like for residents to report potholes and other pavement imperfections in City streets by calling (816) 969-1870. Your assistance will help the City's crew maintain our roadways by reporting imperfections our City staff or another resident may have not seen. (updated 01/21/10)
Adopt-A-Shoreline: Raintree
Lake currently has over 1,900 homes and we have a program that promotes cleaning
up the lake monthly! We all have friends and family visiting our beautiful
lake and what better way to show what a great community we have by how clean and
pristine our lake shore can be. W
e
care because we take pride in living in our community. See the "Shoreline"
for the adoption application.
To All Our Volunteers: Thanks for all you have done.
Why we continue to "clean up our lake shore"? Because we are proud to be residents of Raintree Lake. Because we know that by keeping our lake clean, we will enhance our properties. Because we know that our family and friends will be safe when they are swimming, fishing, and boating. Because we want this community to be the number one community to live in Lee's Summit.
