Sanitary Sewer System Upgrade:  City has contracted with Redford Construction, Inc., as the Contractor for the sanitary sewer improvements in your area.

The project purpose is to increase capacity of the existing sewer mains for peak wet weather flows, and to reduce the potential for residential basement backups.  This capacity increase will be achieved by the construction of a new sanitary sewer main excavated along the center of the north bound lane of Sapelo Drive from 4217 SW Sapelo to the intersection of SW Sapelo Drive and SW Raintree Drive, and an excavation of approximately 200 feet along the center of the east bound lane of SW Raintree Drive east of the intersection of SW Sapelo and SW Raintree Drive, parallel to the existing sanitary sewer main; and by increasing the size of the existing sanitary sewer main from the north side of SW Cole Younger Drive to SW Sapelo Drive.  The construction of this project may require excavation or minor disturbances on homeowner property.  Traffic may be reduced to one lane or stopped temporarily along SW Raintree Drive and SW Sapelo Drive while mains are constructed.  Property owners along the alignment will have temporary disruption of service while construction occurs along their property.

Currently the schedule for this project is to begin the week of July 20, 2009, and is scheduled to be completed the week of September 21, 2009.  (updated 6/06/09)

Ward Road Closure:  On Thursday, June 11, 2009, Ward Road between Drake and County Line will be closed for approximately 30 days.  The portion of Ward Road between Highway 150 and Drake, that is currently northbound only, will resume as two way local traffic concurrently.  (updated 06/09/09)

Swim Lessons:  Aquaticare will once again be offering swim lessons for this summer season. An experienced swim instructor with Aquaticare will be teaching these lessons.  Swim lessons will be held in two-week sessions, Monday through Thursday and Friday will be used as a make up day in the event of bad weather.  For information about the swim lessons click here.  For a registration form click here.

Ward Road Closed until August 2009:   Ward Road will be closed to all southbound traffic until Spring 2009.  There will be one lane for northbound traffic.  The southbound detour follows:  from MO-150 go south on Regatta to Raintree Drive, make a right (west) on Raintree Drive to County Line Road.  For east bound traffic on M-150 an alternate route would be, take south bound Pryor Road to County Line Road then west to Ward Road.  A historical reference is available.  A detail listing of other road closures can be found here.   (updated 01/02/09).
